The Noodles, The Fire, New Microwave

So Thursday while here my eldest boys were keeping an eye on the youngest and it cost me a microwave. So Boo decides he wants noodles and he pulls a Miley Cyrus (She said she did this in an interview) where she placed a packet of ramen noodles in the microwave while still shrink wrapped, no water. It caught fire. Funny the same happened for Boo and he is 2 going on 3.

So he comes downstairs to tell hsi brothers that there is a problem and lots of smoke and some flames. They don’t listen and I have him explain to me there is something wrong. I go upstairs to see flames coming from the microwave and lots of smoke. Well short story I got out of cleaning the microwave, I had to buy a new one. No other damage but some smoke and we are all fine. But never never never pull a Miley Cyrus folks.

Paul Blart – Die Hard Move Over

So I am a fan of the spoof movies and have been as long as I can remember that I picked the wrong week to give up glue sniffing (Airplane). Tonight I got to see Paul Blart Mall Cop. There are so many areas where this was a send up of the Die Hard movies and man was it funny as it got. If you have the chance watch it. 🙂

Death Warmed Up

I seriously feel like death warmed up. My throat hurts and I finished my Zombie book, (World War Z). Now what do I do? Well the good news is I also managed to get a few other books on the shelf to read. So will start into them. With any luck I will write instead of reading this weekend. Tomorrow is a crazy day in itself.  More later I guess ….

Friends up North!

So I wonder what our friends up North have in mind and how soon we can have a good conversation to discuss. We were able to reply to them and now we need to see what the requirements are. With any luck it will allow me to get out of the current financial rough ground I find myself in and same for my associate.

So with any luck we will end up with something good and positive forward momentum as someone I really respect is used to saying.

Am almost at the end of World War Z almost sad to be such. The book has been a great read and highly enjoyable. What a great distraction – however I need to get back to Figgy. I have watched a couple of weeks pass and no more lines have been added, good bad or indifferent.

Am I old?

So Juls and I went to our therapist today. We had a joint session. Sounds official doesn’t it. But all in all this was great. It really helped a lot. I know that I am a very lucky man to be married to her, she is awesome. 🙂

So am I old? I may have grey hairs, believe they are falling out before they can go grey so is a win win. less time in the bathroom to brush my hair, and nothing to color if it was grey.

So last week I bought the Writer’s Market on dad’s recommendation and it has some great information in it. I now need to do some more work on the book and get re-engaged.

Love ya Lid!

Growing old

So my 20th birthday is fast approaching and I’m wondering when do you begin to qualify as growing old?

One of my friends in college considers 20 as something of a cut off point. I think his view is that we’re officially one foot in the grave as of then, if not half dead. But then saying it with a little objectivity twenty is one fifth of the way to being one hundred, though I don’t intend to live that long (though after all the time I’ve spent sitting in bed and studying for my exams I was starting to feel about a hundred with all the aches and pains I was getting in my back and hips). And I’ll be ten years away from thirty.
I know being in the 20s age bracket is still young, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be more interesting saying I’m twenty, than still a teenager. 🙂

But then aside from grey hairs (which I’m not going to notice anytime soon since my hair is liberally dyed with black and blue) and wrinkles what are the signs of aging?
There’s prune juice in the fridge and ready to eat prunes in the cubbard but I’m not going anywhere near them.
I was watching live footage from the Dail earlier and it was pretty interesting. Speakers from Labour and Sinn Fein were speaking out against the governments proposals to nationalise one of the sinking banks over here because they feel it will become a cesspool for money. The government appear to be trying to rush in some form of legislation to bail out one of the banks (possibly more) without giving the Dail adequate time to discuss it and without proper investigation into why the bank is failing. I want to say an interest in the economics and politics of your country should be a sign of growing old, but in a time of recession it feels almost vital to have some idea as to what’s now gone wrong.

I’m getting distracted by footage of the gathering crowds in Washington for the inauguration. I wonder if Obama will really be able to bring about the change that’s been so hyped up. It would be wonderful to see. There’s been a fair bit on the tv over here about “Is Ireland still on Obama’s radar?”, or “What’s Obama’s policy on Northern Ireland?”.
To be honest I don’t think we should be, or at least not high up on his list of priorities. Clearly as the President of the US, his focus should be solely on his country and his responsibilities to it. America, like alot of other places (I’m not going to say everywhere ’cause in regards to the recession we’re only hearing about it’s effects here in Europe and the US, and then there’s the conflict in the occupied palestian terrotories which is just so unfortunate- but at least a ceasefire was agreed during the weekend) is suffering with the recession, and I think if it can be saved (or would it be salvaged?) by the new President then that’s what we should be looking to in order to follow an example as to how to save ourselves rather than expecting America to swoop in and save us all.

Another Day

Well here we are with another day in progress. I have been working on a few projects. Getting some promises delivered and will be able to get one of the computers bogging me down done by tonight. It has been sitting here since before Christmas and the family that own it have been very patient. I have another which the owner knows is a dead stick, but I need to put the HD back into it for them and give it back. Then I can work on the system for Rhonda and get back to business for me.

I have been reading World War Z and am about half way through it today. Is a very interesting read to be honest. Very well worth the time and attention. It would make a great movie, eve series. Wonder if there would be the appeal to do it. News and more news on the topic.

Sunday

I am now reading World War Z. What a great book this is. Very well written and very interesting how it mirrors what we call everyday. An excellent writing job.

In between that I am trying to repair 8 computers for family. What I know to be true is what granda said, if you work for nothing you will never be idle. Well once I am done with these we should be good. So life is fun. Happy to help I guess as if they gop to someone else they will be ripped off, so prefer to not see that happen.

How was the club the other night honey? Did you go?
