Nollaig – and closing

So Nollaig is a few days away right now. We seem set for the day and all is calm, except me. Tax time cannot come soon enough lol. So my employer who I have left out of my blogs deliberately made an announcement that they will suspend / stop the matching 401K payments, they will also no be paying bonus money from 2008 reward programs. The day this was announced we got to read it on the money market papers before we got the internal memo.

In addition to this the day it was announced was one of great depression in the location in general. Everyone suddenly lost the will to work and seemed to mill around the office either enjoying the watercooler griping or the small huddled groups saying that this was it.  So what was it, was it a definitive moment, should something happen, should there be a question mark in this sentence. Who cares, there were cut backs lol.

So Nollaig is days away and here is where I am. This year I am grateful for the following which I still have:

  1. My family, all of you.
  2. My wife, and her love.
  3. My kids and the smaller amount of hair I have to worry over due to your help!
  4. My home.
  5. I have been able to put food on the table.
  6. I have been able to scrape by and pay bills.
  7. My job, and being able to work.
  8. My faith and church. Their help this year has huge.
  9. My friends, the ones who commiserate with me and those who ask me to perform weddings for them.
  10. Anything I have missed.

There is a list of what I am not grateful for, but after writing this list, the other one does not seem as important, just petty.
